Asked Questions.

Everything you need to know about how Aeterna Power works, what we place, where we operate, and how we deploy specialist data center personnel across Europe.

Our Service

What does Aeterna Power do?
Aeterna Power is a specialist workforce partner for data center construction and commissioning projects across Europe. We provide PMO and project controls personnel, construction management professionals, and commissioning specialists to general contractors and OEMs delivering hyperscale and colocation data center programmes. Unlike a traditional recruitment agency, we manage the entire deployment: contracts, compliance, payroll, visas, accommodation and logistics, all handled end to end.
What is the difference between Aeterna Power and a recruitment agency?
A recruitment agency sends CVs. Aeterna Power mobilises teams. That means we handle everything from candidate sourcing through to boots on site: employment contracts, in-country compliance, payroll, travel, accommodation and ongoing account management throughout the project lifecycle. Our clients do not deal with the complexity of deploying specialist personnel across European jurisdictions. We do.
How quickly can Aeterna Power provide a shortlist?
Within 72 hours of receiving a qualified brief, we will have a pre-vetted shortlist of candidates with full profiles, availability and relevant project history back to you. Personnel are typically on site within 4 to 6 weeks of selection, depending on compliance and visa requirements in the relevant country.
Do you work with general contractors or OEMs?
Both. Our primary client base is general contractors delivering hyperscale data center construction and commissioning programmes across Europe. We also work extensively with major electrical OEMs who require specialist commissioning, installation and technical personnel deployed compliantly across multiple European jurisdictions. Both client types benefit from our fully managed deployment model.
What sectors does Aeterna Power operate in?
Aeterna Power focuses exclusively on the data center construction and commissioning market. We do not operate as a generalist staffing business. All of our consultants, our candidate network and our compliance infrastructure is built around the specific demands of hyperscale and colocation data center programmes.

Can you provide AP and SAP (Authorised Persons) for data center energisation?
Yes. We have an established network of Authorised Persons and Senior Authorised Persons with data center energisation experience. We have placed AP and SAP teams on major hyperscale campuses across France, Spain and the UK, managing permit to work, HV switching and electrical isolation during critical energisation phases. Bilingual AP/SAP for Spain and France are available.
Do you provide commissioning managers with L4 or L5 authority?
Yes. We place commissioning managers with L3, L4 and L5 commissioning authority across data center programmes in Europe. Our network includes specialists with hyperscale programme experience across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, BMS and controls disciplines, with established relationships with major end clients including major cloud and technology operators.
Can you supply P6 planners for data center programmes?
Yes. We place Primavera P6 planners at all levels — from site-based planners to senior programme leads and campus planning managers — on data center construction and commissioning programmes. Locations

Which European countries does Aeterna Power operate in?
We are active across all major European data center markets: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland and the United Kingdom. We maintain compliant employment infrastructure across each jurisdiction, including AUG licensing in Germany, IR35 compliance in the UK, ID06 in Sweden, and A1 certificates and posting compliance in France.
Can you deploy contractors to Germany compliantly?
Yes. Germany has specific requirements under the AUG (Arbeitnehmerüberlassungsgesetz) legislation governing the supply of labour. Aeterna Power holds the necessary infrastructure to deploy personnel to Germany compliantly, including AUG-licensed employment structures, full payroll and social security management, and coordination with local works councils where required.
How does Aeterna Power handle compliance in France?
France requires A1 certificates for posted workers and compliance with the French posting of workers directive. We manage A1 certificate applications, French payroll and social contributions, and all posting requirements for each contractor deployed to France. We have deployed personnel to major programmes in the Paris region and across France, including multiple hyperscale data center builds.
Can you provide contractors for data center projects in Spain?
Yes. Spain is one of our most active markets, with projects across Madrid, Aragon and other regions. We provide commissioning managers, AP/SAP, PMO and construction personnel to general contractors on hyperscale programmes. We manage Spanish compliance, payroll and logistics through our established Spanish partner network, and all bilingual English/Spanish roles are sourced from our pan-European network.
Do you cover the Nordic data center market?
Yes. We have an active presence across the Nordics, having deployed personnel across Sweden, Norway and Finland. We manage ID06 compliance in Sweden, Norwegian employment law compliance, and Finnish work permit requirements. We are currently supporting a major OEM client across three simultaneous data center builds in Sweden and Norway, and a leading general contractor on a hyperscale campus programme in Finland.

Deployment

What does fully managed deployment mean?
When we say fully managed, we mean we handle every aspect of getting a specialist on site and keeping them there. That includes employment contracts, in-country payroll and social security, visa and work permit applications, accommodation sourcing and management, travel and rotation logistics, timesheet management and payment processing. Your programme manager does not deal with any of that. We do.
How long does it take to mobilise a contractor?
From brief to shortlist is 72 hours. From selection to personnel on site is typically 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the jurisdiction. Roles in the UK and Ireland can mobilise faster. Roles requiring visas or work permits in markets such as Finland or Germany may require the full 6 weeks to process correctly. We are transparent about timelines at the point of brief.
Do you handle accommodation and travel for deployed contractors?
Yes. We source and manage accommodation for deployed personnel, aiming to provide quality, cost-effective housing within reasonable distance of the project site. We arrange rotation flights and coordinate travel logistics. This is included as part of our fully managed deployment model and eliminates a significant administrative burden for our clients.
What contract structures do you offer?
We operate through a service agreement model with our clients, with the employment relationship between Aeterna Power (or our EOR partner) and the individual contractor. This avoids the complexity of clients establishing direct employment relationships across multiple European jurisdictions. Contract durations are typically 6 to 24 months depending on the project phase, with extension options. We provide day rate and monthly all-inclusive rate structures depending on client preference.

For Candidates

How do I apply for data center contract roles with Aeterna Power?
You can submit your CV directly via our website or browse our current vacancies. We work with specialist data center professionals across PMO, construction and commissioning disciplines. If there is not a current vacancy that matches your profile, submit your CV and we will be in touch when the right opportunity arises.
What qualifications do data center contractors need?
Requirements vary by discipline. Commissioning managers typically need L3/L4/L5 commissioning authority and prior hyperscale data center programme experience. AP and SAP roles require established authorisation credentials and HV switching experience. P6 planners need proven Primavera P6 proficiency and construction programme experience. Site managers and MEP leads need relevant construction management experience, ideally on data center or critical infrastructure programmes. Language skills are increasingly important for European deployments.
Do you place permanent as well as contract roles?
Our primary focus is contract placements, which is where the majority of demand sits in the data center construction and commissioning market. We do occasionally place permanent roles where clients require it. If you are interested in either contract or permanent opportunities, submit your CV and our team will advise on what is available.
How does Aeterna Power handle tax and payroll for contractors working in Europe?
We manage in-country payroll and tax compliance for all contractors deployed through Aeterna Power. This includes managing social security contributions, income tax withholding, and compliance with local employment regulations in each jurisdiction. Contractors receive clear guidance on their tax position in the country of deployment, and we work with specialist tax advisors in each market to ensure full compliance.
